Acupuncture is mostly painless. One might feel the prick of the needle while pricking just like an ant-bite, but not painful. At anandamaya we do not re-use the needles and we make sure that only qualified and registered doctors administer the therapy with high quality painless needles imported from japan.
Yes, Acupuncture needles are sterile and has no contagious (human) contact from the point of manufacture till the insertion of these needles on our clients.
Yes, Acupuncture needles are single use sterile needles. Once used, those needles will be discarded and fresh needles are used for the every subsequent treatment sessions.
Acupuncture usually does not have any side effects when a right method of needling is done using sterile single use needles. Acupuncture has very minimal/rare complications like mild bruising, minimal bleeding, itching or redness in the area of needling which resolves within 2-3 days.
Each Acupuncture session approximately lasts for about 45 – 60 minutes.
Each individual responds in a different way to the therapies and it completely depends on the compliance to the treatment and response of the body to the treatment. Initially we start seeing you every alternate day. However, each case is unique. We will craft a clear treatment plan for you and will tell you how often you should see us. Often, our patients will notice relief from a specific symptom in about 3 - 4 treatment sessions.
